Lessons from a Street-Wise Professor: What You Won’t Learn in Music School, by Ramon Ricker

Lessons from a Street-Wise ProfessorYou may know Ramon Ricker as a clarinetist in the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. You may know Dr. Ramon Ricker as Senior Associate Dean for Professional Studies; Director, Institute for Music Leadership; and Professor of Saxophone at the Eastman School of Music. He’s also a successful composer and arranger. You have heard his work on hundreds of television commercials and program themes on NBC, ABC, Cinemax, HBO, and Arts and Entertainment. He teaches Entrepreneurship in Music, and who is better able to tell aspiring musicians about the business side of their vocation? You won’t meet him at the Local Author Book Fair–he has a gig–but he is a Fairport resident and we will have his books, thanks to Mrs. Ricker.
